Bio

Prior to joining RSSAA in 2023, Alana worked as a music teacher at Musician’s Edge in Dexter, MI, and as Music Minister at Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington, MI. She has also performed professionally, singing the lead female role in the world premiere of the musical Gearheads in 2024, and with the Chicago Summer Opera, in the role of Rinaldo in Handel’s opera of the same name and in the chorus for Bizet’s Carmen.

As a music teacher, Alana wants to empower students to create, perform, and sing. It brings her joy to see students master a piece of music and the pride and accomplishment that comes with it. Her interests outside of school include piano, guitar, cooking and baking, and time in nature.
