Application Timeline

Students who complete all parts of the admissions process for the following school year by January 31 will receive an admissions decision by March 1. Offered contracts must be returned by March 30. 

Students who complete all parts of the admissions process after January 31 will have their file reviewed by the Admissions Committee on a rolling basis. The enrollment deadline will be determined at the time of the decision.

  1. Schedule a personal Tour or attend an Open House (optional) - To schedule a tour email admissions@steinerschool.org or call 734-995-4141.
  2. Apply - Use the link on this page to create an account and fill out our online application. There is a non-refundable $60 fee per application.
  3. Visit - The Admissions Director will communicate whether this visit is possible/needed or not at the time of your inquiry.
  4. Contract - If admitted, you will be issued a contract through your admissions account; once you have signed and returned the Enrollment Contract, the student is officially enrolled.
  5. Apply for Financial Aid (optional) - Our aid application will open for the year at the end of January.  We will send updates to all applicants who are interested once it is open.

  3. Interview - Upon receipt of all application materials, an interview will be scheduled with the student (age dependent), parents, and Lower School Coordinator. 
  4. Student visit (Grades 2-8) - After the interview, the student typically visits the classroom for three consecutive days. This enables the child to experience the classroom and teacher. The Admissions Director will communicate whether this visit is possible/needed or not at the time of your inquiry.
  5. Decision - The admissions committee will meet and make a decision about enrollment.
  6. Contract - If admitted, you will be issued a contract through your admissions account; once you have signed and returned the Enrollment Contract, the student is officially enrolled.

  4. 2-day Visit - After the interview, the student typically visits the classroom for two consecutive days. This enables the child to experience the classroom and teacher. The Admissions Director will communicate whether this visit is possible/needed or not at the time of your inquiry.
  5. Decision - The admissions committee will meet and make a decision about enrollment.
