Student Educational Support

RSSAA is committed to working with families to understand how we can best support all students in our school.  We have a full-time Student Support Specialist who coordinates the care and support of students needing individual support across our school.

The Student Support Specialist is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all support processes are completed in a transparent and parent-inclusive way that allows RSSAA to plan for the support of the student.
  • Facilitating communications between public school personnel and Steiner School personnel for students with documented disabilities, and yearly Non-Public Service Plans (formerly Individual Education Plans/IEP).
  • Writing Accommodation Plans for students in both the Lower School and the High School.

Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor is not set up specifically for students with individual learning, mental health or other functional needs but offers a degree of support for those students in need. When the need of a student exceeds our resources, we work with families to find the best way forward, which could include supporting a transition to a program that can more successfully support the child.

Three Care Streams

Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor strives to create and maintain a culture of safety, kindness, respect, and responsibility by using the Three Care Streams process developed by Kim John Payne, M.ED.
