Bio
Robert joined the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor as an intern in 2016 to complete his Waldorf teacher training and became a full-time class teacher in the 2017–18 school year. He currently serves as the third-grade class teacher and Lower School Faculty Chair. Before becoming a Waldorf educator, Robert worked as a journalist, a U.S. Congressional aide, and an attorney. Prior to RSSAA, he taught Movement and Games at Oakland Steiner School for two years. He has completed courses in early grades literacy, teaching math, phenomenological science, and Spacial Dynamics.
Robert discovered Waldorf education through his own children and was inspired by the creativity, resilience, and confidence it helped foster in them. As a teacher, he hopes to offer those same gifts to his students. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, especially on family vacations to national parks. He is also an avid board and card game enthusiast and a frequent champion in fantasy baseball leagues.
