Bio
Annie MacDougald is the Grade 2 teacher at the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor. She has been part of the school community since 2014, first as a parent and later in a range of teaching roles, including substitute, assistant, and middle school block teacher before stepping into her role as a class teacher in 2023. Her earlier professional life included work in education consulting, college admissions, and AmeriCorps service in a fifth-grade classroom. Annie holds degrees from Middlebury College and the University of Michigan and has completed extensive literacy and Waldorf teacher training.

Annie brings to her work a deep appreciation for the richness of educational experience, having studied and taught in diverse settings across the U.S. and abroad. It is the holistic, integrated approach of Waldorf education that resonates most with her, nurturing the whole child—head, heart, and hands. Teaching, for Annie, is a way to help children grow into morally grounded, creative, and free-thinking individuals. Outside the classroom, she enjoys knitting, embroidery, playing guitar, walking her dog in the woods, and reading
