Bio
Leah Bauer is the grade one assistant at Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor. Before joining RSSAA in 2024, they worked as a writing consultant and co-teacher at the Michigan State University Writing Center, and as an assistant English teacher and tutor at an international boarding school in Germany. They bring experience in language instruction and individualized student support, along with certifications in Orton-Gillingham tutoring and trainings in Extra Lesson and Bal-A-Vis-X.
A former Waldorf student, Leah returned to Waldorf education because of its reverence for the soul and holistic approach to child development. They are inspired by the curriculum’s integration of the arts, movement, and curiosity, and see teaching as a way to nurture discovery and growth. Outside of school, Leah is a musician and multidisciplinary artist who enjoys farming, foraging, learning new crafts, cooperative storytelling, travel, and sword fighting.
