Bio
Aubrey Thomason serves as the outdoor educator and groundskeeper at the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor. Her work focuses on helping children build a relationship with the natural world, rooted in hands-on immersion and environmental stewardship. Before joining RSSAA in the 2023–24 school year, Aubrey spent two decades in the specialty food and dairy industry, including 12 years as a cheesemaker and eight years as owner/operator of Zingerman’s Creamery. Her training included time spent living and working on farms and dairies throughout Europe and the U.S.
Aubrey’s love of the outdoors, conservation, and long-term visionary projects led her naturally to Waldorf education, where she values the connection to spirit, beauty, and the living world. She sees her work as an ideal blend of her passions—nurturing children, caring for land, and cultivating sustainability. When not on campus, she can be found hiking with her dog, tending to her garden, or experimenting.
