Bio
Jamie Gallupe joined the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor in the winter of 2021 to help revitalize the Suzuki-based pedagogy of the beginning strings program. She teaches cello starting in Grade 3 and brings with her a wealth of experience as both an educator and performer. Jamie also coaches cello sections at Ann Arbor Public Schools—including Pioneer High School—and teaches at St. Francis of Assisi’s strings program. She maintains a vibrant private studio and performs with a wide variety of ensembles, from jazz and chamber music to early music and musical theater.

Jamie treasures the flexibility Waldorf education offers, allowing her to tailor instruction to each grade level’s needs. She finds joy in guiding students from their very first encounter with an instrument to more advanced musical expression. When she’s not immersed in music, Jamie enjoys knitting, crocheting, and hiking with her partner and greyhound—though music always seems to follow wherever she goes.
