Bio
Janice Alvarado Stewart is the Student Support Coordinator at the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor. She brings over 35 years of experience in education, both in public school systems and Waldorf settings, including work as an early childhood assistant and Parent-Child lead teacher. Her background includes supervising pre-service teachers at EMU, supporting teen parents, teaching Pre-K through 2nd grade, and serving in parent education roles. Since joining RSSAA in 2018, Janice has been an active presence across programs, contributing to committees, professional development, and community-building initiatives.
Guided by a passion for educating the whole child, Janice finds deep purpose in the developmental, collaborative spirit of Waldorf education. Her work is grounded in relationships—with students, colleagues, and families—and in a strong commitment to growth, equity, and integrity. Whether she’s walking in nature, connecting with her grandchildren, or reading The New Yorker, Janice brings a love of lifelong learning to all she does. She also makes a point to visit Waldorf schools whenever she travels, deepening her appreciation for this global movement.
