The 2025-2026 Annual Fund
At RSSAA, our community is essential in elevating the outstanding education we provide. Although tuition covers the basics of running the school, it is the Annual Fund that enables us to exceed expectations. Gifts to our school impact every aspect of school life, from supporting our faculty with professional development opportunities to providing tuition assistance to families in need.
Why do I need to give?
Your Annual Fund gift helps RSSAA meet day-to-day operating expenses not covered by tuition in our yearly budget. Your donation provides classroom materials, supports facilities repairs and upgrades, and funds training and mentorship opportunities for our dedicated faculty.
Your participation also enables RSSAA to secure gifts from foundations and private donors who prioritize funding organizations with high community participation. When we all give, others give as well.
Thank you for supporting our students, faculty, and families with your gift to Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor.
There Are Many Ways to Give

Legacy Giving and Bequests
Leave a lasting impact. Planned gifts, including bequests, are discussed in more detail below.
We would love to discuss your charitable goals.
About the Seyhan Eğe Legacy Society
The Seyhan Eğe Legacy Society was named in honor of the largest bequest ever received by the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor, a gift from Seyhan N. Eğe, PhD, a brilliant teacher and distinguished professor of chemistry at the University of Michigan. Seyhan was both a chemistry teacher and Board member at our school. We gratefully acknowledge her generous gift, which built our middle school.
“Meredith and I thought it was responsible to have a simple estate plan, and we named the Steiner School as a beneficiary, so that other students could receive a Waldorf education in the future.”
We invite you to make a lasting difference in the future of our school.
The Seyhan Ege Legacy Society, named in honor of one of our school’s seminal benefactors, recognizes donors who make a lasting impact on Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor through planned giving. We are grateful that RSSAA is a priority in your family’s charitable giving plan.

Most planned gifts are bequests. It can be quite helpful to inform Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor of your intent to remember our school in your documents. To help you with this, we have developed an Intent to Bequest form which is a non-binding document but can be a simple way to let us know your ideas. Naming Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor as a beneficiary in a will or in a codicil to a will allows a donor to make a larger contribution after death than is generally possible during their lifetime. Please ensure our full legal name is used in your documents: Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor Association, 2230 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, EIN#38-2242069.

Donors may designate Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor as a beneficiary of any balance remaining in an IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan at the time of death. The gifted amount is not subject to income tax or estate tax, as it would be if left to an individual.
-
Donors may transfer ownership of a life insurance policy on the donor's life to Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor. The donor continues to pay premiums after the gift is made, for which they receive an income tax deduction. The total investment in the life insurance policy is also tax-deductible.
-
A trust of this type creates income for the donor during the donor’s lifetime and leaves the trust’s remainder to a beneficiary charity upon death. The CRT document is irrevocable and is created according to the wishes of the donor by the donor’s advisors. RSSAA can help you during this process and demonstrate to you what others have achieved using this very helpful trust instrument. A CRT can be funded in a myriad of ways including assets of most any kind. When the trust terminates, the remainder is paid to Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor.
-
Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor accepts gifts of real estate of most any kind including gifts of real estate outright but also a Retained Life Estate which is an agreement that allows a donor the right to live in and use their property for the rest of his or her life. By irrevocable agreement, the donor receives an income tax deduction for the value of the deferred gift and our school receives the property upon the donor's death.
