We Lead Together

Guided by collaboration and shared responsibility

RSSAA is overseen by three interrelated and collaborative bodies: the Board of Trustees, the College of Teachers, and the Administrative team. We work by consensus within and across our governance groups and are committed to a transparent, cooperative decision-making process.

Our Leadership Structure

College of Teachers

RSSAA’s curriculum and pedagogy are overseen by the College of Teachers, a group of faculty and staff who are dedicated to the school’s philosophical integrity and long-term interests. The College meets weekly and oversees curriculum, shared agreements, school policies, and professional development, among other pedagogical concerns.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the legal and financial organization of the school, ensuring RSSAA’s long-term health and sustainability through strategic planning and oversight of operations. In accordance with its bylaws, all members of the Board serve as volunteers, dedicating significant time and expertise to our school’s oversight and operations.

Administrative Team

The Administrative Team, led by the School Administrator, supports RSSAA’s daily operations, admissions, marketing, and communications. In collaboration with the Board of Trustees, the Administrative Team also helps build and execute the school’s strategic plan.

Carrying Groups

Our faculty and administration work together at each level in Carrying Groups that are responsible for managing the following PreK-12 processes with support from the College of Teachers and faculty:

  • Employee recruitment, hiring, performance improvement, and separation

  • Student admissions, suspension, dismissal

  • Crisis management, accidents, and safety issues

Accreditation

The Rudolf Steiner School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States.
