Nurturing the Whole Child

Our Waldorf curriculum begins with wonder. We honor childhood as a time for imagination, exploration, and joyful discovery. Through play, rhythm, and creative activity, children grow in confidence, curiosity, and compassion.

Outdoor Play:
Exploration and Discovery

Each day offers time outdoors, where children run, climb, dig, observe, and explore in all seasons.

Ample time to play freely outside nurtures a child’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, while fostering creativity, independence, and a lifelong connection to nature.

By navigating challenges, taking safe risks, and learning to adapt through play, children build resilience—laying a foundational skill set that supports confidence, perseverance, and courage as they grow into capable, self-assured learners and, ultimately, thriving adults.

Consistent Daily Rhythms

Our daily rhythm provides children with a sense of security, allowing them to develop healthy habits, emotional balance, and a warm sense of belonging—essential foundations for learning and growth. Learn more about typical schedules in our kindergarten, preschool, and parent-child programs.

Indoor Play:
Imagination and Connection

Storytelling, music, and art nurture children’s inner worlds while laying the foundation for pre-literacy skills, helping them recognize language patterns, expand vocabulary, and develop early reading readiness.

Our classrooms are warm, inviting, and filled with natural materials that inspire imagination and creativity. Simple toys—wooden blocks, silks, seashells, and handmade dolls—encourage open-ended play that sparks curiosity, cooperation, and problem-solving.

Through these experiences, children grow into confident, caring, and capable learners, ready to embrace the joys of learning.

Our Teachers

At RSSAA, the relationship between child and teacher is at the heart of everything we do.

Children stay with their teachers for multiple years, allowing teachers to deeply observe and respond to each child's unique personality, interests, and growth. This continuity fosters trust, confidence, and a true sense of belonging while giving teachers the insight to guide learning in highly personalized, thoughtful ways.

Teachers also build lasting partnerships with parents and caregivers, working together to support each child's growth, learning, and well-being and to help every child feel seen, supported, and inspired.

This deep, lasting relationship is a signature of our program—nurturing children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development and laying the foundation for confident, curious, and capable learners.

Our early childhood program helps children develop creativity, resilience, and a true joy in learning—qualities that prepare them to thrive in school and in life.
