Extended Care

We realize some family schedules require the need for an earlier drop off or later pick up of their student.  RSSAA offers both before- and after-school options to help busy families.
Lower School Beforecare Program
This daily drop-in program is available to PreK-8 students from 7:30 am until the start-of-school in the Lower School Commons area.  Students may draw, participate in art projects, play board games or puzzles, or engage in reading or conversation.  No registration is required, but students should be signed in.

Fee: $2.50 per quarter hour

Lower School Aftercare Program
Our Aftercare Program is available at the Lower School from 3:15 pm for Early Childhood and from 3:30 pm for Grades 1-8 until 6 pm. We ask parents to register their students in advance, up until 24 hours prior to care, by filling out a monthly registration form, but we can also accommodate drop-in care. The Aftercare program is more relaxed than the school day. Children play outside, use the gym facilities, have a healthy snack shared as a group, read stories, do art projects and play games.  Older children with homework are offered support and the space to complete the days work.
Hours: 3:15 pm for Early Childhood
  3:30 pm for Grades 1-8

During Aftercare hours, please call 734-730-2649 with any questions or concerns.  All other times, please contact the Lower School main office.
Fees: $8.50 per hour per family with 24 hour notice
$9.50 per hour per family for drop-in care

The first hour, no matter the length of time spent in aftercare, will be charged as a full hour. After this, families are billed by the quarter hour.

A late fee of $1.00/minute will be charged after 6:05.

Math Support Program for Grades 4-8 (please discuss your student's math needs with your class teacher prior to enrolling)
High School
The high school building will be open and supervised until 6 pm daily.  HS students are welcome to stay during that time to work on homework, read or study quietly, practice instruments or attend school extracurricular clubs or events.  Students are expected to be generally quiet and focused on their activities.  If individual students cannot meet the expectations for this time, they will be asked to leave the school building by 3:30 pm.
