Tuition Assistance

It is part of the mission of the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor to offer a Waldorf education to students from a broad range of ethnic, social, economic and racial backgrounds and we allocate funds annually for Tuition Assistance to our families.

Awards of Tuition Assistance are based on need and we accept applications from those who have successfully completed the admissions process and have submitted signed enrollment contracts.

Tuition Assistance is available for:

  • Students in Grades 1-12                                                                                 Up to 50% maximum
  • Students in our 5 Full-Day Golden Eagles Program (age 6 by June 1)          Up to 50% maximum
  • Students in our 5 Full-Day Kindergarten Program                                          Up to $1,500 maximum
  • Students in our 5 Full-Day PreKindergarten Program                                     Up to $1,500 maximum

Tuition Assistance applications are submitted online through FACTS Grant & Aid and reviewed by the Tuition Assistance Committee. The application is self-guided, self-paced and online help is available through FACTS Customer Service. FACTS does not decide whether financial assistance will be awarded or how much – FACTS provides a need-based financial analysis of the expected family contribution towards tuition. This analysis uses the family’s submitted tax return along with estimated household income and expenses.

The charge for the application is $30 paid to FACTS once your application is complete. In order for your application to be verified and finalized, your 2017 Federal tax return with all related schedules and documents needs to be uploaded or faxed directly to FACTS. All information is kept confidential.

The School allocates tuition assistance systematically, with priority given first to returning students, followed by new students. Please note that in order to be considered for tuition assistance, tuition payments must be current. Families requesting assistance must submit a completed student contract, however, this contract is contingent on the Tuition Assistance award.

Final award decisions are based on the Tuition Assistance Committee’s assessment of the family’s need and the budgeted funds available. Please be aware, there is always a greater demand for assistance than there are available resources.

For more information about the application process, see Applying for Tuition Assistance and Tuition Assistance Application Documentation Required.

The Tuition Assistance application deadline for all returning families is March 2, 2018. New families can apply beginning March 16, 2018 or within 15 days of the signed enrollment contract, whichever is later.
