The Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor (RSSAA) believes in the vital importance of play and being in the outdoors for the healthy development of children. As we began a process for improving and enhancing the Lower School playground, we wanted a playground that would protect the ecosystem and nurture behaviors in children like creative problem solving, imaginative play, and nature-inspired learning. By working with Shannan Gibb-Randall at InSite Design, we will be able to integrate natural elements such as fallen logs, boulders, hills, and valleys which allow children interact with the natural world.
