The experience of passing through a well designed landscape can uplift mood and spirit. We began our improvements by installing benches, hand-built by our own Ron Zang, carefully sited to provide gathering areas for our students and parents. We added natural bluestone pavers along the existing sidewalk and around the new benches with funding provided by a $5000 grant from Lowe's. The 8th grade class contributed two serviceberry trees this spring. We will continue to plant layers of health-giving plants, including a tall shady maple, pinkflowering red buds, evergreen hollies, and lacy ferns closest to the ground.
